On Wednesday, March 29, OPS Jordan carried out its first bread distribution in Hadalat. The distribution was completed successfully: a total of 2,500 kg of bread was delivered, which is sufficient bread for three days for the entire population of over 4,000 people.

The distribution was the first bread supply received by the refugee population since eight months, while no food aid had reached Hadalat since December 2016. New information on current living conditions, gathered during the distribution, reaffirmed the critical situation in the camp.

Malnutrition and hunger continue to be major concerns. For both food and medical supplies, people are reliant on an inflated black market, while they are depleting their resources. Illnesses, in particular asthma and other respiratory problems, are on the rife. People are in dire need of humanitarian assistance, particularly food provisions and medical care.

We look forward to continue our bread distributions as soon as sufficient funds come in.
